CBW are working with a leading Facilities Management provider who are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to oversee engineering operations within a newly refurbished commercial building in Moorgate, Central London. This impressive corporate property offers a modern, high-quality working environment with upgraded building services and excellent occupier facilities, providing an exciting opportunity to take a leading technical role within a prestigious City location. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with previous leadership experience to take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering delivery across a large, modern corporate environment. The building offers premium office accommodation, extensive external terraces, landscaped communal areas and first-class occupier facilities, supported by modern, sustainability-focused building services.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40-hour week)
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead engineer on site, ensuring the efficient delivery of planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Provide day-to-day support and technical guidance to the on-site engineer
- Coordinate and supervise specialist contractors carrying out maintenance and project works
- Manage the permit-to-work system and review RAMS before works commence
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety legislation and company procedures
- Monitor service delivery through CAFM systems, ensuring maintenance records are accurate and up to dateCarry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across electrical and mechanical building services
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client, occupiers and key stakeholders
- Support small project works and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Assist the Account Manager with quotations, technical recommendations and contractor management
- Monitor KPIs and SLAs, ensuring contractual obligations are consistently achieved
- Carry out regular site inspections to maintain engineering standards and compliance
- City & Guilds Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent recognised qualification
- Previous experience as a Lead Engineer, Shift Leader or Senior Engineer within Facilities Management
- Strong knowledge of commercial building services and M&E maintenance
- Experience overseeing subcontractors and ensuring site compliance
- Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- A proactive, organised approach with strong technical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while supporting the wider contract team
