Location - Liverpool/Manchester

Salary - Up to £45,000 negotiable

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Fire & Security Engineer / Project Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in the delivery of fire and security projects, alongside planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and service works.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who can lead engineering teams, work closely with Project Managers and take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects, while also supporting service and maintenance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong fire alarm installation, servicing and commissioning experience, with a good understanding of wider security systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Fire & Security Engineers on site.
  • Coordinate engineering activities and ensure projects remain on programme.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to deliver projects successfully.
  • Install, test and commission fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out PPM, servicing, testing and maintenance of fire and security systems.
  • Attend reactive service and breakdown call-outs when required.
  • Fault-find and resolve technical issues on site.
  • Carry out system testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics and project specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and other site teams.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers.
  • Complete service reports, commissioning documentation and project handover paperwork.
  • Carry out quality checks and ensure work meets required standards.
  • Identify additional works and report opportunities to the Project Manager.
  • Required Experience
  • Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer, Lead Engineer or Project Engineer.
  • Strong fire alarm installation, servicing and commissioning experience.
  • Experience carrying out PPM and reactive service works.
  • Experience leading or supervising engineers.
  • Good understanding of fire alarm systems and associated equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Full UK driving licence.
