About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join a well-established training provider based in Hull.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the organisation's internal quality assurance processes, ensuring assessment practices remain fair, consistent and compliant with awarding body requirements. You will play a pivotal role in driving quality improvement, supporting assessors and IQAs, and maintaining high standards across engineering apprenticeship and technical training programmes.
Working closely with the wider quality team, you will champion best practice, lead standardisation activities and help embed a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities across engineering and technical training programmes.
  • Ensure assessment decisions are valid, reliable, fair and consistent.
  • Maintain compliance with awarding organisation requirements including EAL, City & Guilds, ECITB, TWI, JTL (CompEx) and Pearson Edexcel Higher Nationals.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor internal quality assurance activities across multiple training centres.
  • Lead standardisation meetings and provide guidance and support to assessors, trainers and IQAs.
  • Monitor learner progress and assessment quality to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Prepare for and support External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure all quality assurance documentation is accurate, up to date and compliant.
  • Promote a positive quality culture across the organisation.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Significant experience working as an Internal Quality Assurer within a training provider or Further Education environment.
  • A recognised Level 4 IQA qualification (or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • An engineering qualification at Level 3 or above.
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards, assessment practice and awarding organisation requirements.
  • Experience leading standardisation meetings and driving quality improvement.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to manage quality assurance systems effectively.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel between sites will be required.

Additional InformationThis role is primarily based in Hull, with regular travel to other training centres in Grimsby and Scunthorpe.
