The Opportunity

We're working with a major Irish engineering contractor delivering some of the country's largest and most technically demanding projects across Data Centres, Life Sciences, Industrial, Power & Renewables.
With 1,900+ employees and a major project portfolio across Ireland, the UK and Europe, the business continues to grow and is looking for an experienced Senior Project Planner to join the team.
What You'll Be Doing
This isn't a programme-maintenance role.
You'll be involved from planning through to delivery, working directly with Project Managers, Commercial teams, Site teams, Main Contractors and clients to build, challenge and control the programme.
You'll be responsible for:
Developing detailed construction programmes from project targets and WBS
Building and integrating programmes with Main Contractors
Labour-loading programmes and producing S-curves and histograms
Tracking weekly progress, productivity and labour efficiency
Producing 2-week look-ahead and retrospective programmes
Running planning and look-ahead meetings with site teams
Producing progress reports, trackers and project reporting
Identifying programme risks, constraints and potential delays
Supporting programme negotiations with clients and Main Contractors
Forecasting labour requirements and estimate-at-completion
Managing programme revisions throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting project teams with risk identification and mitigation
Presenting programmes to construction teams and ensuring alignment
Mentoring and supporting junior planners where required
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced Project Planner / Senior Planner with 5+ years' experience within engineering, construction, MEP, building services or another technically complex environment.
You'll need:
Experience developing construction programmes from design and commercial information
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, progress measurement and labour loading
Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent
The ability to coordinate multiple programmes and stakeholders
Strong commercial awareness
Excellent communication and reporting skills
The confidence to challenge programme issues and escalate risk
A relevant qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying or similar
A strong technical or trades background combined with significant planning experience will also be considered.
