We're recruiting for an experienced Lead Planner to join a project involving the construction of deep underground tunnels, large reinforced concrete shafts and associated civil engineering works. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure scheme that will leave a lasting legacy while offering genuine long-term career progression.

The Role

As Lead Planner, you'll be responsible for leading the planning function, ensuring the successful development, management and delivery of project programmes from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with the Project Management, Construction, Commercial and Engineering teams, you'll play a key role in driving project performance and ensuring successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning function across the project.
  • Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded programmes.
  • Produce baseline, contract and working programmes.
  • Monitor progress and identify programme risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Produce recovery programmes where required.
  • Coordinate subcontractor programmes and integrate them into the master programme.
  • Assess the impact of scope changes and compensation events.
  • Produce programme reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with Construction, Commercial, Design and Engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Promote planning best practice throughout the project.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Lead Planner or Senior Planner within civil engineering.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure, tunnelling or heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Strong Primavera P6 experience.
  • Experience supporting both tender and live project delivery.
  • Good understanding of NEC contracts and commercial principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to lead and mentor planning teams.
  • HNC in a construction-related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
