Our client is looking to appoint several Lead Procurement Managers on a long-term assignment, working on strategically important projects at the heart of the UK public sector.

What you would be doing
- Leading compliant, end-to-end procurement exercises above thresholds, under PCR 2015, the Procurement Act 2023 and via frameworks.
- Shaping and delivering category and project strategies, including market analysis, supplier relationship management and benchmarking.
- Managing complex workloads with competing priorities, balancing operationally urgent and strategically important tasks.
- Acting as a Senior Commercial Manager and trusted advisor, embedding strong contract management practices with stakeholders.
- Deputising for the Head of Commercial (Works) when required and leading on sensitive, secure projects.
- Ensuring procurement excellence in the Works category, fully aligned with internal governance and procurement rules.
- Supporting contract and supplier management, including negotiation with existing suppliers and ensuring performance against contracts.
- Contributing to quality assurance (e.g. Commercial Assurance Board), procurement policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Using and improving systems and data to provide meaningful management information on category spend.
- Mentoring junior colleagues and helping to build capability across the wider team.
Skills and experience they are looking for
- Proven track record in complex public sector procurement.
- Strong working knowledge of PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
- Expert NEC3/NEC4 contract experience.
- Solid background in Works / construction procurement.
- Delivery of the full procurement lifecycle, from strategy through to contract award and transition.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
- Experience in contract and supplier management and broader commercial strategy.
