Lead / Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Dublin or Cork, Ireland – Market Rate – 12-Month Contract – Outside IR35 – Life Sciences / Advanced Manufacturing

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Lead or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team, supporting the design and delivery of technically complex projects across the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical and Advanced Manufacturing sectors.

This is an initial 12-month contract opportunity, with the potential for further work depending on project requirements. The role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Requirements:

As a Lead / Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and leading the electrical design of projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to the required technical and quality standards.

Therefore, to be successful you must be competent in the following:

  • Electrical power distribution – LV and MV
  • Lighting systems and calculations
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Emergency and backup power systems
  • Life safety systems
  • Electrical equipment sizing
  • Electrical design calculations
  • Electrical riser diagrams and schematics
  • Equipment schedules
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Electrical specifications and technical documentation
  • Understanding of relevant electrical standards and codes
  • Working within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Supporting projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience within electrical engineering/design
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong electrical design experience within building services or engineering environments
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and applicable industry standards
  • Ideally, experience within sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing or other highly regulated environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Professional engineering registration would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Willingness to travel to client and project sites when required
