The Role
An established and growing renewable energy contractor is looking for an experienced Lead Solar PV Installer to oversee residential solar PV and battery storage installations.
The company delivers projects across social housing, residential developments and new-build properties. With several new schemes starting shortly, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business and help build and develop its solar installation team.
The successful candidate will be a practical, hands-on installer who can lead projects on site, maintain high installation standards and support less experienced members of the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead domestic solar PV and battery storage installations
- Manage installation teams and daily site activity
- Complete installations safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Carry out electrical installation, testing and commissioning
- Ensure work complies with MCS requirements and current regulations
- Review site information and identify potential installation issues
- Liaise with project managers, clients and residents
- Complete installation documentation and certification
- Support the recruitment, training and development of installation teams
- Travel to projects across the UK when required
Requirements
- Strong practical experience installing solar PV systems
- Experience installing battery storage systems
- Qualified Electrician or experienced Solar PV Installer
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS or CSCS card
- Solar PV installation qualification
- Experience with testing, commissioning and fault finding
- Good understanding of MCS installation standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable travelling and working away when required
Inspection and Testing qualifications would be advantageous.
Candidates must have genuine installation experience. Applicants who have only completed classroom-based solar training without practical site experience are unlikely to be suitable.
