Learning and Behaviour Mentor – Immediate Start
Full Time • Long Term • Term Time Only Tower Hamlets £100–£115 per day (DOE) • Umbrella
A vibrant, community‑centred primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a Learning Mentor who can start straight away. The school is known for its nurturing culture, strong pastoral systems and a genuine commitment to helping every child feel secure, confident and ready to learn. Staff work closely together, behaviour is well supported, and wellbeing sits at the heart of daily practice.

About the Role
You’ll be supporting pupils who need a little extra help to stay engaged, regulate emotions and build positive learning habits. Working alongside teachers, pastoral leads and the SEN team, you’ll be part of the school’s wider effort to remove barriers and strengthen pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group mentoring for pupils needing additional pastoral or emotional support
- Help children develop confidence, resilience and positive behaviour routines
- Support emotional regulation, social skills and engagement in lessons
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and staff
- Deliver tailored interventions and track progress
- Promote positive behaviour and act as a calm, consistent role model
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
- Degree desirable
- Experience supporting children or young people in schools, mentoring or youth settings
- Calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
- Professional understanding of safeguarding and pastoral processes
- Available to start immediately
