New Chapter Tuition is proud to be working exclusively with a specialist vocational education provision to recruit a Learning Mentor for a full-time, permanent role.

Supporting learners from KS3-KS5 with SEMH, ADHD, emotional and behavioural needs, and those who have experienced trauma, you'll use practical, vocational learning to help young people rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop the skills they need for further education, employment and life.

The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

• Support learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups of up to 8.

• Deliver engaging, practical vocational learning.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.

• Support learners with SEMH, ADHD and SEND.

• Use effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies.

• Create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve positive learner outcomes.

About You

This role would particularly suit candidates with experience as a:

• Learning Mentor

• Behaviour Mentor

• Teaching Assistant

• Sports Coach

• Youth Worker

• Mechanic, Engineer or Vocational Instructor

• Cadet Instructor or Alternative Provision Practitioner

You'll also have:

• Experience supporting children and young people.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Experience supporting learners with SEMH, ADHD or challenging behaviour.

• Strong de-escalation skills.

• A trauma-informed, nurturing approach.

• A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people.
