Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming SEND primary school in Haywards Heath that is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Mentors to support primary-aged pupils with additional needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing educational environment.
The pupils you will be supporting may have a range of needs, including:

As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing and personal development. You will work closely with teaching staff to help create a positive and engaging learning experience for every child.
The Role:-
Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support

Encouraging engagement and participation in learning activities

Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Building strong, trusting relationships with children

Promoting confidence, independence and social development

Assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning both inside and outside the classroom

✔ Candidates with a genuine passion for SEND and inclusive education
✔ Individuals who can act as positive role models for young learners

Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs is desirable

Child Only Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Access to a car due to the location of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
