Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Roles - Vale of Glamorgan

Looking for your next LSA role in the Vale of Glamorgan? Academics are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of primary schools in Barry, Penarth, Rhoose and Cowbridge.

We have a variety of opportunities available, from one-to-one LSA support to general Teaching Assistant (TA) positions.



The Roles

As an LSA working across primary schools, your responsibilities could include:

  • Providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs
  • Supporting pupils within small groups or across the wider classroom
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence
  • Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and educational development
  • Assisting with classroom routines and preparation
  • Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
  • Working with pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs
  • Providing general classroom support as a Teaching Assistant where required
  • Following individual support plans and school policies
  • Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school
  • Experience as an LSA, TA, Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Experience supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis is desirable
  • Experience working with ALN/SEN is advantageous
  • A caring, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic candidates

  • EWC registration
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
