Learning Support Assistant

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Sunderland area. This is a full-time, ongoing position, offering an immediate start for the right candidate.

Located in North Sunderland, the school is easily accessible from Gateshead, South Tyneside, Washington and surrounding areas, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for a role within a reasonable commute across the North East. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students across a range of subjects, providing general classroom support and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

• Supporting students in lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
• Encouraging student engagement, confidence and independence
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and resources
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to remain focused
• Building positive relationships with students and staff

• Have experience working with young people, preferably within an educational setting
• Be patient, approachable and enthusiastic
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Be passionate about helping young people succeed
