TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school in the TA2 area that is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment for pupils with additional needs. The school has a supportive ethos and is dedicated to helping every child build confidence, independence and reach their full potential through personalised learning and outstanding pastoral care.

The school is looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with a range of SEND needs on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the classroom. You will also be expected to confidently lead lessons, deliver targeted interventions and work closely with teaching staff to provide the highest standard of support. This role would be ideal for an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is looking to progress into an HLTA role.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant within a UK school

• Experience supporting children with complex SEMH needs, challenging behaviours and associated additional learning needs

• Experience leading lessons and delivering interventions independently

• Experience in associated roles such as Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Cover Supervisor or Classroom Support Assistant

• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills

• A positive, resilient and proactive attitude with the confidence and ambition to progress into an HLTA role
