Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Full Time – Biggleswade (SG18) – Immediate Start

Are you a motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a secondary school setting?

We are currently seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Biggleswade (SG18). This position is available for an immediate start, continuing into the new academic year on a long-term basis, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Pay: £90–£105 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential. You will provide both 1:1 and small group support, particularly for students with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs and additional learning requirements.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum across a range of subjects.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support students' emotional and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to meet students' needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to relevant staff.
  • Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students both inside and outside the classroom where required.
  • Promote student independence, confidence, and participation in school life.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a secondary school environment is essential.
  • Ideally educated to degree level.
  • Experience supporting young people with additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
