Location: Gloucester

Salary: £32,165.03 to £36,160.95 per annum

Hours: Permanent – 37 hours per week (may include evenings)

Key Responsibilities:

As part of a dynamic teaching team, you will deliver practical skills, theory, and live salon sessions to learners across Levels 1 to 3. Your primary duties will include:

  • Designing and delivering engaging learning activities that motivate students, promote autonomy, and utilise modern educational technologies.
  • Creating a safe, purposeful classroom and salon space that champions diversity, equality, and respectful student behaviour.
  • Devising and applying fair assessment methods, providing constructive feedback, and keeping meticulous records of student progress.
  • Actively participating in the organisation’s quality cycles, collaborating with colleagues on literacy and numeracy development, and engaging in continuous professional development


Candidate Profile: (Essential)

  • Recent professional industry experience within the beauty sector.
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Beauty.
  • Possession of a PGCE, DTTLS, or Certificate in Education OR a definitive willingness to achieve a Level 3 Teaching qualification within your first year of employment.
  • An Enhanced DBS check with a child barred list check (or willingness to undergo one).


Desirable Criteria:

  • Prior teaching experience within a Further Education (FE) environment, covering both adults and full time students.
  • Experience in delivering successful online learning and teaching.
  • An Assessor’s Award (or willingness to complete one).
  • Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths grade C or above, or equivalent).

  • Ability to inspire and motivate young people to reach their educational goals.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle challenging behaviour constructively.
  • Excellent communication skills across digital, verbal, and written platforms.
  • Superb time management skills to prioritise workloads and adapt flexibly to changing environments.

Please note that this role involves regulated activity with young people under the age of 18. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a self declaration regarding their criminal record in compliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check, and standard online and social media background screenings will be conducted as part of the pre screening compliance checks.
