The Role:

University College Birmingham is seeking to appoint up to 5 Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to support the delivery of Transnational Education (TNE) programmes delivered in partnership with international institutions.

This role focuses on the planning, delivery and assessment of contextualised academic English provision for international students studying on UCB‑validated programmes overseas. The postholder will support students in developing the academic language and study skills required for successful progression into English‑medium higher education, ensuring consistency of standards and alignment with University expectations.

The post is offered on a permanent, fractional basis, equivalent to 0.66 FTE, and includes allocated time for teaching, preparation, assessment and marking activity in support of TNE delivery.

We are looking for committed and experienced EAP practitioners who have:

  • Experience teaching English for Academic Purposes in higher education
  • Experience supporting international students, ideally within online or transnational contexts
  • A DELTA or equivalent Level 7 teaching qualification
  • Strong digital literacy and confidence using online learning technologies
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A student-centred approach and commitment to high‑quality academic provision

Experience of TNE delivery is desirable, but applicants with strong online EAP experience and interest in international education are encouraged to apply.
