Legal and Risk Officer in Cambridge, ENG

Eclectic Recruitment is working with an international organisation based in Cambridge to recruit a Legal & Risk Officer on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is a broad in-house role supporting colleagues across legal, compliance, governance and risk matters in the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Advising colleagues on contractual and legal risk.
• Supporting procurement, consultancy and sub-grant agreements.
• Assisting with GDPR, compliance and corporate governance matters.
• Carrying out due diligence, including sanctions and AML checks.
• Supporting insurance, policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Liaising with external counsel and providing practical legal guidance.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Experience within an in-house legal team or private practice.
• A good knowledge of English contract law.
• Experience across data protection, compliance and/or governance.
• Strong drafting, communication and organisational skills.
• A practical, commercial and solutions-focused approach.
