Legal Assistant (Wills & Lasting Powers of Attorney)

Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Office-based, Woodstock
Working Hours: Flexible start and finish times (e.g. 8:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible

The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised and personable Legal Assistant to join a friendly and professional Wills & Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) team.

This is a varied administrative role supporting solicitors with the preparation, coordination and administration of Wills and LPAs. You'll play an important part in ensuring clients receive a professional, compassionate and efficient service throughout their journey.

Whilst previous legal experience would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are looking for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and a positive, proactive attitude. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to develop your legal knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting solicitors with the administration of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters.

  • Opening and maintaining client files and updating the case management system.

  • Preparing documents, correspondence and appointment paperwork.

  • Liaising with clients by telephone, email and in person.

  • Arranging appointments and coordinating document signing.

  • Managing the secure storage of legal documents.

  • Processing incoming and outgoing post and maintaining accurate records.

  • Carrying out ID checks and supporting compliance procedures.

  • Providing general office and reception support when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous administrative experience, ideally within a professional services environment.

  • Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Enjoys providing excellent customer service.

  • Can manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • Is professional, discreet and able to handle confidential information.

  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.

  • Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.

Previous experience in a legal environment or with case management software would be an advantage but is not essential.
