Legal Onboarding Assistant

In this role you will work closely with colleagues across the firm, supporting client onboarding by gathering ID documents, carrying out checks, opening new matters, and assisting with risk assessments. You will also be involved in wider AML work, including screening and due diligence, helping to keep everything compliant and running efficiently.
As the Legal Onboarding Assistant at Wrigleys Solicitors you will:
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to collect required ID and onboarding information.
- Carry out electronic ID verification using Smartsearch, conflict checks, and initial due diligence.
- Support risk assessments and identify any issues requiring further checks or escalation.
- Use onboarding systems (Autologyx) to open matters, upload documents, and prepare engagement letters.
- Act as a central contact for new clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Maintain accurate records and track client onboarding progress to meet compliance requirements.
- Work closely with compliance on AML matters (e.g. sanctions, source of funds).
- Manage workload independently, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Build strong relationships across teams, including fee earners and business support functions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the client experience.
Here at Wrigleys Solicitors, we are looking for a Legal Onboarding Assistant with:
- Proven experience in an office-based role with strong administrative skills is essential, preferably within a professional services setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills.
- Previous experience of onboarding processes is advantageous.
