Legal Process Assistant - Admin & Clerical
Belfast | Temporary | £14.83 per hour (weekly pay)

Hatched Recruitment Group is seeking a Legal Process Assistant to join Belfast City Council's Legal Services Section on a temporary ongoing assignment, starting 21 September 2026.

This is a great opportunity for someone with legal administration experience to support the maintenance of the Council's legal archives, case management systems and title documentation.

Pay & Hours
Pay rate: £14.83 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working pattern: 8.30am-4.30pm or 9.00am-5.00pm. After a successful 4-week training period, this role moves to a hybrid pattern of 2 days remote and 3 days in the office
Location: Adelaide Street, Belfast BT2 8GD

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining secure storage and records for title deeds, lease agreements, easements, wayleaves and contracts
• Inputting and updating archive details on the legal case management system
• Processing legal documents, opening case files and administering non-contentious procedural work
• Maintaining and updating the Council's contract register and deeds schedules
• Liaising with internal and external customers, the Law Society library and commercial storage providers
• Using online legal research systems such as LandWeb and LexisNexis
• Supporting archival and library research for colleagues, and compiling statistical data on archive usage

What You'll Need

• At least 1 year's relevant experience in each of the following: administration of legal documentation and legal case management systems; working with title documentation and property records; and dealing with queries from internal and external customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong IT skills, with the ability to input, locate and retrieve data accurately
• Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and to deadlines
• A team-focused, professional approach
