Conveyancing Legal Secretary – Ashford

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join an award-winning law firm in Kent. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to take the next step in their legal support career.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the conveyancing department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing correspondence through both audio and copy typing, including letters, legal forms (Oyez), and quotations.

  • Answering telephone calls professionally, courteously, and efficiently.

  • Carrying out general administrative duties, including photocopying and maintaining accurate client records.

  • Filing correspondence and ensuring client files are organised and kept up to date.

  • Scheduling appointments and liaising with clients in a professional manner.

  • Entering and updating information on the firm's case management system.

  • Working collaboratively with the wider secretarial team, providing support and telephone cover when required.

  • Handling all confidential information with the utmost discretion.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Conveyancing Legal Secretary is essential.

  • Excellent technical skills, including fast and accurate typing.

  • The ability to manage a busy workload independently, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident, friendly, and professional manner both over the telephone and face-to-face.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word is essential.
