Salary: Up To £26,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded, progressive legal practice based in Poole who are looking to appoint a professional and proactive Legal Secretary to join their established Wills & Probate department.
In this pivotal support role, you will work closely with specialist solicitors, providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support across estate administration, probate matters, wills, and lasting powers of attorney. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated legal support professional to join a client focused team that actively champions internal career progression and structured professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Working alongside the specialist legal team, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Secretarial & Documentation Support - Producing fast and accurate audio and copy typing of correspondence, legal documents, reports, and formal estate administration paperwork.
- Probate & Application Processing - Preparing probate applications and supporting documentation in line with statutory guidelines and firm procedures.
- File & Case Administration - Managing file opening and closing processes, maintaining accurate case management records, and managing both incoming and outgoing post and emails.
- Diary & Appointment Management - Overseeing complex fee earner diaries, arranging appointments, and scheduling client meetings efficiently.
- Client & Third-Party Liaison - Handling telephone enquiries professionally, acting as a clear and empathetic point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, and external third parties.
- Financial & Billing Administration - Assisting with draft billing preparation, tracking disbursements, and supporting the day-to-day financial administration of client matters.
- Compliance & Audit Quality - Maintaining meticulous records to ensure strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
What Our Client Is Looking For
To be successful in this position, you should bring a solid administrative foundation within a legal environment alongside a confidential, empathetic approach:
- Legal Support Background - Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a Probate, Private Client, or general legal practice setting.
- Typing & Technical Skills - High proficiency in audio and copy typing, exceptional keyboard accuracy, and strong skills across Microsoft Office applications.
- Organisational Ability - Outstanding time management capabilities with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise busy workloads, and meet strict deadlines.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a reassuring, professional telephone manner.
- Systems Literacy - Experience using legal case management systems and digital file structures.
- Personal Attributes - A reliable, discreet, and collaborative team player who handles sensitive client information with utmost confidentiality.
