My client is seeking an experienced Legionella Plumber to deliver high-quality remedial plumbing and water hygiene works across predominently the Harrow area. This is a specialist, locally focused role for a practical professional who combines strong plumbing skills with a thorough understanding of Legionella control, compliance and customer care.
All assignments are within the Harrow area. Reliable local attendance is central to the service and therefore ready to take ownership of planned and reactive works from diagnosis through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive Legionella remedial plumbing works arising from risk assessments, monitoring results, work orders and client instructions.
• Remove or shorten dead legs and dead ends, alter or renew pipework, improve circulation and correct defects that may contribute to stagnation or poor temperature control.
• Install, repair, replace and maintain taps, valves, shower components, flexible hoses, tanks, cistern components, thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) and associated hot and cold-water fittings.
• Investigate temperature, flow, pressure and system-performance issues, then complete proportionate remedial actions within your competence and authority.
• Undertake outlet flushing, showerhead and hose cleaning or descaling, tank inspection or cleaning, and disinfection support where trained, authorised and specified.
• Complete and record temperature checks and other routine water hygiene activities where required by the work order.
• Work in accordance with ACOP L8, HSG274 Part 2, COSHH, RAMS, company procedures and site-specific safety controls.
• Complete accurate job sheets, readings, photographs, material records, defect reports and completion evidence for every visit.
• Communicate professionally with residents, customers, site contacts and colleagues, explaining the work clearly and minimising disruption.
• Protect customer property, leave work areas clean and safe, manage tools and materials responsibly, and report any additional defects or follow-on works promptly.
Technical Plumbing and Leigonella Expertise
Proven plumbing experience, including fault-finding and remedial work on domestic or commercial hot and cold-water systems.
• Current recognised Legionella control training/certification aligned with ACOP L8, together with practical working knowledge of HSG274 Part 2.
• A recognised plumbing qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3, City & Guilds, or an equivalent demonstrable level of competence
