Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding | Loughborough & Melton
Leicestershire County Council | £38 per hour Umbrella
Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting on behalf of Leicestershire County Council for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Loughborough Safeguarding service, covering both Loughborough and Melton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker with strong Child Protection and Court experience to join a supportive safeguarding team and manage complex cases within a statutory children's social care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection and safeguarding.
- Undertake assessments and develop effective plans to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
- Undertake statutory visits and direct work with children, young people and families.
- Prepare high-quality reports and evidence for court proceedings.
- Attend court hearings in Leicester City when required.
- Work effectively with children, parents, carers and partner agencies.
- Identify, assess and manage safeguarding risks.
- Contribute to Child Protection conferences, reviews and multi-agency meetings.
- Complete accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements.
- Work across Loughborough and Melton as required.
- Participate in duty responsibilities and weekly POD sessions.
- Contribute to the wider safeguarding service and support positive outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Recognised Social Work qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience working in a Social Work role within a UK English Local Authority - essential.
- Strong experience in Child Protection and safeguarding.
- Previous Court/Court proceedings experience is essential.
- Experience managing complex children's social work cases.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent assessment, analytical and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound professional decisions.
- Flexibility to attend required office-based commitments and court hearings.

- Area: Loughborough, covering Melton
- Pay Rate: £38 per hour Umbrella
- Working Pattern: Hybrid
- Office attendance: Weekly POD, all duty days and monthly team meetings
- Court attendance: Leicester City when required
