LEV DESIGN ENGINEER

Options Resourcing Ltd

LEV DESIGN ENGINEER Nuclear Projects | UK | Permanent
Ventilation. But make it nuclear.
We're looking for an experienced LEV Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business delivering complex projects across the UK nuclear sector.
This is an opportunity to work on technically demanding, safety-critical projects where your designs genuinely matter — and where "that'll probably do" isn't an acceptable engineering philosophy.
️ What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for designing and developing Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems across major nuclear projects, including:
  • Designing LEV and specialist ventilation systems
  • Producing calculations, specifications and technical reports
  • Designing extraction hoods, ductwork, fans and filtration systems
  • Undertaking airflow and pressure-drop calculations
  • Developing designs from concept through detailed design and delivery
  • Working alongside mechanical, electrical, process and structural engineers
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and troubleshooting
  • Participating in design reviews and technical meetings
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, legislation and client requirements
  • Supporting safety-critical engineering assessments
☢️ Why nuclear?
Because ordinary ventilation projects weren't challenging enough.
You'll be working on major nuclear infrastructure and highly regulated environments, tackling complex engineering problems where reliability, safety and attention to detail are absolutely critical.
Your designs could contribute to projects involving specialist ventilation, hazardous environments, containment and complex industrial systems.
 What we're looking for
We're looking for an engineer with:
  • Proven LEV design experience
  • Mechanical engineering background
  • Strong knowledge of ventilation and extraction systems
  • Experience with ductwork, fans, filtration and airflow calculations
  • Ability to produce engineering calculations and technical documentation
  • Understanding of COSHH and LEV principles
  • Experience working within nuclear, industrial, pharmaceutical, chemical, defence or another regulated environment
  • Strong multidisciplinary engineering skills
P601/P602 or other recognised LEV qualifications would be highly desirable.
Nuclear experience is advantageous, but we're happy to consider engineers from other safety-critical or highly regulated sectors.
 What's on offer?
  • Major UK nuclear projects
  • Highly technical and varied engineering work
  • Long-term career opportunities
  • Specialist LEV and ventilation experience
  • Hybrid/flexible working
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Opportunity to work within a growing specialist engineering team
  • Excellent exposure to some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects
 Sound like you?
If you're an LEV Design Engineer who wants to move beyond standard commercial ventilation and get involved in genuinely complex engineering projects, this could be the move.
