Nelson Recruitment Services are seeking a passionate Level 2 Nursery practitioner to oversee our early childhood education environment in the Birmingham area, working with 0-2 years.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing daily nursery operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Your leadership will inspire a team of childcare professionals, foster positive relationships with families, and uphold the highest standards of childcare excellence. Location: Birmingham, B16 9EG

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to ensure high-quality childcare delivery
  • Oversee daily nursery activities, including lesson planning, playtime, and developmental assessments
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that complies with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to share progress updates and address concerns
  • Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, record-keeping, and compliance documentation
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on teamwork, professional growth, and child-centered care
  • Ensure all staff adhere to licensing requirements and organizational policies related to early childhood education

Experience

  • Proven management experience in a childcare or nursery setting
  • Extensive experience working directly with children in early childhood education or childcare roles
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of childcare professionals
  • Knowledge of nursery routines, child development milestones, and early childhood curricula
  • Excellent communication skills in English for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff
  • Valid driving license preferred for transporting children or attending off-site activities
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards
