Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

Location: Orsett Heath, Borough of Thurrock  (Essex RM16 4JJ)

Salary: £26,000 to £29,000 per year

Contract:: Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within our nursery setting. . The role is paid, with a focus on fostering positive learning experiences and ensuring high standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children’s development across all areas.
  • Support children’s emotional, social, and physical well-being through attentive care and guidance.
  • Supervise and manage daily routines, including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance to ensure consistency in quality of care.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
  • Ensure the nursery complies with all relevant health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Assist in organising activities that promote early childhood education principles aligned with best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursery standards through team collaboration and feedback.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce).
  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, capable of guiding a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development theories and best practices in childcare.
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external activities.
  • Ability to work flexibly within the nursery hours to meet operational needs. This role offers an enriching environment where you can make a meaningful impact on young children's lives while developing your professional skills within a supportive team.
