Level 3 Nursery Staff

We are currently recruiting experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioners to work within nursery and early years settings across Derby.

We have a variety of opportunities available, including full-time, part-time and flexible day-to-day roles, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced childcare professionals looking for either consistent hours or a more flexible working pattern.

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable practitioners who have a genuine passion for working with young children and have previous experience working within an EYFS setting.

As a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care, learning and support to children within a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

You will work closely with the nursery team to support children's development and ensure they receive the highest possible standard of care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality care and support to children aged 0-5.

• Supporting children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

• Planning and supporting engaging, age-appropriate activities.

• Following children's interests and using these to encourage learning and development.

• Supporting children's communication, language, physical, social and emotional development.

• Observing children and contributing to accurate records of their development and progress.

• Supporting children's individual needs and ensuring an inclusive environment.

• Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.

• Supporting daily routines including meals, personal care, toileting and sleep routines where required.

• Maintaining a safe, clean and stimulating environment.

• Following safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies at all times.

• Working effectively as part of a team.

• Communicating professionally with colleagues and families.

• Encouraging children's independence, confidence and curiosity.

• Creating positive experiences that support children's wellbeing and development.

To be considered for this role, you MUST:

• Hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or an equivalent qualification.

• Have previous experience working within an EYFS setting.

• Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.

• Have an understanding of safeguarding and the responsibilities involved in working with children.

• Be passionate about providing high-quality childcare.

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Be reliable, punctual and professional.

• Be confident working as part of a nursery team.

• Have a patient, caring and enthusiastic approach.

• Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to pay for and complete a new DBS check.

Please note: The Level 3 qualification is an essential requirement for this role. Applicants who do not hold the required Level 3 childcare qualification will not be considered.

Due to the nature of working with children, appropriate safeguarding and background checks are required.

Candidates must either:

• Have a valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or

• Be willing to pay for a new DBS check as part of the recruitment process.

For experienced Level 3 practitioners who want the flexibility to choose when they work and are available for short-term or day-to-day assignments.

The current shift patterns include:

8:00am - 1:00pm
Morning shift.

12:00pm - 6:00pm
Afternoon shift.

8:00am - 6:00pm
Full-day shift.

There may be opportunities to work different shift patterns depending on nursery requirements and your availability.

Qualified - You must hold a recognised Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification.
