We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic, and adaptable Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team at our two-form entry primary school in Great Barr.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach and willing to work across the school, including supporting children in our Nursery provision and providing targeted support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) throughout the primary age range.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to promote progress and raise achievement.
  • Provide high-quality support within our Nursery setting when required.
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Assist in implementing individual support plans and work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and external professionals.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
  • Be prepared to work flexibly according to the needs of the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Has experience of working within a primary school setting.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Is confident supporting pupils across different age groups, including Nursery.
  • Is flexible, adaptable and able to respond positively to changing priorities.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Is patient, caring and committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
  • Demonstrates initiative while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Shares the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
