Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all pool sessions in line with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times
  • Support SEN pupils sensitively during swimming activities
  • Carry out pool checks and maintain a safe environment
  • Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Work closely with teaching and therapy staff
  • Maintain accurate safety and incident records


Requirements

  • Valid lifeguard qualification (e.g. RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or equivalent)
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Calm, responsible, and attentive approach


Desirable

  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • Experience in educational or therapeutic swimming settings
  • Understanding of SEN needs and support strategies
