Responsibilities and duties of the Lifting Inspection Technician
Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager you will:
- Conduct LOLER and PUWER inspections of lifting equipment.
- Inspect lifting accessories including slings, shackles, hooks and eyebolts.
- Complete accurate digital inspection reports and certification.
- Identify and report defects and compliance issues.
- Advise customers on remedial actions and safe equipment use.
- Explain inspection findings and compliance requirements to customers.
- Tag equipment as compliant or quarantine where necessary.
- Support repairs, replacements and follow-up inspections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records.
- Promote safe lifting practices and company standards.
- Travel to customer sites using a company vehicle.
- Support service team audits and equipment standards.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Several years experience in lifting equipment servicing, maintenance, or inspections.
- A strong understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and industry legislation.
- An understanding of LEEA codes of practice (holding or willing to work towards LEEA Diploma/Quals).
- A full UK drivers licence.
