We're looking for an experienced DV Cleared Linux Specialist to join a high-profile Defence programme supporting critical secure infrastructure within an MOD environment.

This is a fully on-site role based in Hampshire, offering the opportunity to work on business-critical systems where security, resilience, and performance are paramount. You'll become part of an experienced technical team responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing Linux-based platforms across a highly secure environment.



As a Linux Specialist, you'll be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise Linux environments, ensuring systems remain secure, available, and operating at peak performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering and supporting enterprise Linux environments.
  • Installing, configuring, patching, and maintaining Linux servers.
  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and operating system issues.
  • Supporting system upgrades, migrations, and platform improvements.
  • Working closely with infrastructure, network, security, and project teams.
  • Monitoring system health, performance, and availability.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with MOD security policies and operational standards.


Essential Experience

  • Current DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
  • Previous MOD or Defence sector experience is essential.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, or similar).
  • Experience with Linux system installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of enterprise infrastructure, including storage, virtualisation, networking, and server technologies.
  • Experience working within highly secure or mission-critical environments.
