Live-In Carer – 24/7 Support

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, reliable and responsible Live-In Carer to provide 24/7 support to a young female resident living independently in her own home in Brentwood, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Carer or Support Worker who enjoys providing person-centred support and wants to make a genuine difference to someone's day-to-day life.

The successful candidate will live in the resident's home and provide support throughout the week, helping to maintain a safe, comfortable and positive home environment.

The position can be worked as a 7-day live-in role or, where preferred, on a 1 week on / 1 week off rota, making this suitable for experienced live-in carers looking for a structured working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 24/7 live-in care and support within the resident's own home.

Provide companionship and emotional support.

Assist with day-to-day routines and activities.

Support the resident to maintain independence and choice wherever possible.

Assist with personal care where required.

Support with preparing meals and maintaining a healthy routine.

Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry and keeping the home tidy.

Support with appointments, activities and community involvement where required.

Encourage independence and participation in everyday activities.

Monitor wellbeing and report any concerns appropriately.

Follow individual care and support plans.

Maintain professional boundaries and respect the resident's privacy and dignity.

Work closely with family members and/or other professionals involved in the resident's care.

Ensure the home remains a safe and supportive environment.

Experience

Previous experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• Live-in care
• Residential care
• Supported living
• Domiciliary care
• Health & social care
• Support work
• Working with young adults
• Personal care

Relevant experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates who can demonstrate the right attitude, compassion and commitment to the role.

Working Pattern

The role requires 7 days of live-in support.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are available to work:

1 week on / 1 week off

This provides a consistent handover between carers and allows for a regular working pattern.

Candidates who are looking for a full 7-day live-in position will also be considered.

Important

This is a live-in care position, so applicants must be comfortable staying in the resident's home for the duration of their working week.

The successful candidate will be required to complete appropriate right-to-work, reference and safeguarding checks before starting.
