My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Loan Closer to join a busy Distribution Control function on an initial 6-month contract. You will be hybrid working being office based 3 days a week with the remainder of time working from home, Monday to Friday standard office hours with the requirement to work outside of those hours during busy periods.
You will be responsible for supporting the Bank's Origination and Distribution teams in the execution, documentation, and settlement of trades relating to syndicated loan transactions. The successful candidate will review and negotiate trade documentation, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure operational, legal, and regulatory compliance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and process loan trading documentation relating to syndicated loan transactions.
- Prepare and negotiate trade confirmations, transfer certificates, assignment agreements, participation agreements and pricing letters.
- Manage the execution and settlement of secondary loan trades from trade date through to completion.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, counterparties, facility agents and legal teams to ensure timely execution of documentation.
- Review credit agreements and transfer provisions to ensure transactions are completed in accordance with market standards.
- Ensure all documentation is aligned with approved credit terms, internal policies and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate records within Loan IQ and ensure settlements are processed correctly.
- Identify and resolve documentation, settlement and operational issues that arise during the transaction lifecycle.
- Monitor transactions for compliance with regulatory, risk and control requirements.
- Escalate complex documentation or settlement issues where appropriate.
- Support process improvement initiatives across the loan closing and trade settlement function.
Skills & Experience
- Experience within syndicated loan operations, loan closing, loan trading documentation or a related banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of the syndicated loan market and LMA documentation.
- Proven experience drafting and processing:
- Trade Confirmations
- Transfer Certificates
- Assignment Agreements
- Participation Agreements
- Pricing Letters
- Good understanding of loan trade settlement processes and transfer mechanics.
- Hands-on experience using Loan IQ.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
