Locum Gp in Oxford, Oxfordshire

We are seeking experienced and dedicated General Practitioners (GPs) to provide high-quality patient care across GP practices and Out-of-Hours services. The successful candidate should be confident working independently in busy clinical environments and be willing to travel and work across multiple sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive GP and Out-of-Hours medical care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients.
• Manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions across different age groups.
• Conduct face-to-face and telephone consultations, including appropriate triage and referrals.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic patient records and clinical documentation.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with clinical systems, including SystmOne, Adastra, and other GP/Out-of-Hours patient management systems.
• Prescribe medication safely and appropriately in line with relevant clinical guidelines.
• Refer patients to secondary care, emergency services, or other healthcare professionals when clinically appropriate.
• Work effectively with nurses, healthcare assistants, administrative teams, and other multidisciplinary professionals.
• Follow all applicable clinical governance, safeguarding, confidentiality, infection control, and patient safety procedures.
• Be flexible and willing to work across multiple sites, including evenings, weekends, nights, and Out-of-Hours shifts where required.

Essential Requirements

• Valid medical qualification and appropriate professional registration/licence to practise.
• Relevant experience working as a GP, preferably including GP Out-of-Hours/Urgent Care.
• Strong hands-on working knowledge of SystmOne, Adastra, and similar clinical systems.
• Excellent clinical decision-making, communication, and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Flexibility to travel between and work at multiple locations/sites.
• Valid right to work and completion of all relevant employment and compliance checks.
