Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
Local Authority – South East
Initial 3–6 Month Contract | Fully Remote Working

Vivid Resourcing are currently working with a local authority in the South East who are seeking an experienced Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join their legal services team on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy legal team, advising on a varied caseload of commercial contracts and procurement matters while benefiting from a fully remote working arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• Managing a broad caseload of commercial contracts and public procurement matters
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
• Advising on procurement processes, tender documentation and contract award procedures
• Providing legal advice on compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and wider public procurement legislation
• Supporting internal stakeholders on contractual, procurement and governance issues
• Managing matters from instruction through to completion with minimal supervision

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive in England & Wales
• Proven experience handling commercial contracts and procurement matters, ideally within a local authority or wider public sector environment
• Strong understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and public procurement legislation
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote role

Contract Details:

• Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
• Fully remote working
• Initial 3–6 month contract with strong potential for extension
• Flexible start date
