We are currently recruiting for a Lodge Porter to work at one Oxford's prestigious Colleges for a period of 3 months.
Duties:
- Provide a welcoming and professional face to all students, fellows, staff, and visitors, ensuring a positive first impression of the college. Maintain a calm and composed manner when interacting with a diverse range of individuals and handling potentially challenging situations.
- Act as a knowledgeable information point, assisting students, fellows, staff, and visitors with their inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
- Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day running of the Lodge, including general administration, switchboard operation, managing Lodge emails, maintaining the shared Lodge calendar, and preparing handover notes for shift changes. Sale of merchandise/tuck shop and taking of monies for graduations.
- Maintain a professional and supportive approach, recognizing the importance of discretion and confidentiality in all interactions.
- Understand and adhere to the College’s emergency procedures, being prepared to act swiftly and effectively in the event of an emergency. Liaise and coordinate with emergency services or University Security as required.
- Monitor the CCTV system, taking appropriate action when necessary to ensure the safety and security of the College community.
- Conduct regular security patrols and checks of the College, appropriately challenging individuals if required in a professional manner.
- Assist with event preparations and provide on-the-day support, maintaining a helpful and professional attitude throughout as directed by the Head Porter or Facilities team.

- Office skills: Be proficient in general office and computer skills, including Microsoft Office
