Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Strategic Studies Engineer to join a premium automotive brand on a contract basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the early product creation phases across all UK sites, from through to . You will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality data, analysis, and preparatory work that enables informed decision-making across the programme environment.

Responsibilities
As a Logistics Strategic Studies Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the day-to-day contact in GME Logistics for all programme activity in the strategy phase.
  • Engaging with GME technology teams and serving as a key interface to support decision-making during the creation of the initial manufacturing strategy.
  • Capturing all part complexity, type, sequencing assumptions, and m3 data from Supply Chain and programme teams, summarising the latest part fit point and packaging proposals, and ensuring alignment with the latest solution design intent.
  • Preparing all Intra-Logistics strategic impact assessments for programme studies as requested by the Industrial Operations Strategy (IOS) team.
  • Preparing all Intra-Logistics gateway submissions for the Industrial Operations Programme Delivery (IOPD) team from to gateways.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a project or programme environment within the automotive sector.
  • Strong ability to collate, analyse, and present complex data effectively.
  • A solid understanding of planning, monitoring, and risk-awareness principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence in working within dynamic environments where the scope of work may change at pace.
Day-to-Day
Your daily activities will involve:
  • Collaborating with cross-functional programme teams to ensure seamless information flow and alignment.
  • Conducting detailed impact assessments and preparing strategic reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Engaging with technology teams to align manufacturing strategies with programme objectives.
  • Managing and summarising data related to part complexity, sequencing, and packaging proposals.
  • Preparing submissions for key programme gateways and ensuring all deliverables meet required standards.
