Industrial Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for a LOLER Inspector for their manufacturing Client in the Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent role within a fast-paced and well-established manufacturing operation.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- Full-time, permanent position
- Flexibility may be required depending on operational requirements and inspection schedules
Pay Rate:
- £15.00 per hour
Job Duties:
- Carry out thorough examinations and inspections of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER regulations
- Inspect lifting accessories, cranes, hoists, chains, slings and other lifting equipment
- Inspect fall-arrest and fall-prevention equipment where required
- Identify defects, damage, wear or hazards that could affect equipment safety
- Determine whether equipment is safe to remain in service
- Produce accurate and detailed inspection reports
- Recommend repairs, maintenance or removal from service where necessary
- Issue and maintain inspection records and certification
- Ensure all lifting equipment complies with relevant legislation, company procedures and industry standards
- Liaise with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure defects are addressed promptly
- Maintain accurate inspection, certification and maintenance records for audit purposes
- Monitor inspection dates and ensure equipment is examined within the required timescales
- Stay up to date with changes to LOLER legislation and lifting-equipment standards
- Support wider health and safety and quality-assurance processes within the business
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a LOLER Inspector, Lifting Equipment Inspector or Thorough Examination Engineer
- A recognised LOLER inspection or lifting-equipment qualification is essential
- Strong knowledge of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
- Experience inspecting cranes, hoists, lifting accessories and fall-arrest equipment
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and industry standards
- Ability to identify defects and accurately assess equipment condition
- Strong written skills with experience producing detailed inspection reports
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Confident communicating inspection findings to engineering, maintenance and management teams
- Able to work independently and manage inspection schedules effectively
- Experience within heavy manufacturing, engineering or lifting-equipment environments would be advantageous
