M&E QA Supervisor
James Lewis Recruitment
M&E QA Supervisor
St John’s Wood / Mayfair
£260–£280 a day CIS ONLY
This is a QA role for someone who knows what good M&E installation looks like before the client, consultant or commissioning team has to point it out.
You’ll be working across high-end central London projects for one of the UK’s largest independent building services contractors, supporting the site teams with quality inspections, technical compliance, QA paperwork, defect prevention and handover standards.
This is not just a clipboard role. The job needs someone who can walk the floors, understand the mechanical, electrical and public health installation, pick up issues early, speak properly with supervisors and project managers, and make sure the works are being delivered in line with drawings, specifications, approved materials, ITPs and project quality requirements.
The business has been operating in building services for over 70 years, is employee-owned, and delivers mechanical, electrical and public health packages across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, hotel, industrial, pharmaceutical, research and refurbishment schemes. They are big enough to offer structure and proper QA systems, but still close enough to the work that site standards matter.
What you’ll do
· Carry out regular QA inspections across mechanical, electrical and public health installations
· Check works against drawings, specifications, technical submissions, approved materials and project standards
· Work closely with project managers, site managers, supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and QA/QC teams
· Raise, track and close out defects, snags and non-conformance issues before they become bigger problems
· Support the completion of QA documentation, ITPs, check sheets, test records, material approvals and handover packs
· Make sure site teams are following the correct quality, health, safety and environmental processes
· Help drive better standards across installation, coordination, testing, commissioning and final handover
What you’ll need
· Previous experience in M&E QA, QA/QC, supervision or engineering within building services
· Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and public health installations
· Good eye for detail and the confidence to challenge poor workmanship or incomplete documentation
· Experience working from drawings, specifications, technical submissions, RAMS, ITPs and check sheets
· Ability to work with project teams, supervisors and subcontractors without slowing the job down unnecessarily
· Experience on commercial, residential, hotel, healthcare, education or high-end refurbishment projects would be useful
· A practical site background would be highly beneficial, particularly if you have come from an M&E supervisory or engineering route
