Freelance M&E Quantity Surveyor

Location: Surrey (On-site – Army Barracks)
Duration: Minimum 6 Months
Rate: £390 per day (Umbrella PAYE)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a major project based at an Army Barracks in Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical building services to work on a secure, long-term project.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of M&E packages from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare and review valuations, variations, cost reports and forecasts.
• Assess subcontractor applications and manage payments.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising project value.
• Support the Project Manager with commercial reporting and contractual matters.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with project procedures.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on commercial, industrial or public sector projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience.
