The Machine Minder is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the efficient running of machinery within the tray wash facility. The role ensures that trays and equipment are cleaned safely, effectively, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining a safe and productive working environment.

Full Time Shifts available in Warrington WA1

Monday - Thursday 19:30 / 06:00 Night shifts

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor tray wash machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Ensure trays are loaded and unloaded safely and efficiently.

Monitor machine performance, water levels, temperatures, and cleaning cycles.

Carry out routine checks to ensure machinery is operating correctly.

Identify and report machine faults, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements promptly.

Perform basic machine cleaning and housekeeping duties in line with site procedures.

Ensure trays are washed to the required hygiene and quality standards.

Maintain a continuous flow of clean trays to support operational requirements.

Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements.

Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and near misses immediately.

Assist with changeovers, start-up, and shutdown procedures as required.

Work closely with colleagues, team leaders, and maintenance personnel to resolve operational issues.

Complete relevant production, quality, and equipment check sheets accurately.

Support the team in achieving productivity, quality, and hygiene targets.

Knowledge and Skills

Previous experience operating machinery in a warehouse, manufacturing, food production, or logistics environment is desirable.

Good understanding of health and safety and hygiene requirements.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to identify and report equipment issues.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling trays in a busy operational environment.

Working Conditions

Based in a busy tray wash facility in Warrington.

Role may involve exposure to water, noise, wet floors, and cleaning chemicals, subject to site controls.

PPE must be worn as required.

Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, or bank holidays, may be required depending on operational needs.

The Machine Minder is expected to maintain safe and efficient machine operation, achieve required quality and productivity standards, report issues promptly, and contribute to a clean, safe, and well-organised tray wash facility.
