Job Title: Press Operator
Location: Kettering
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour, increasing to £13.33 per hour after 12 weeks

About the Role We are looking for a reliable and motivated Press Operator to join our production team. This role involves operating label press machinery to produce high-quality labels, carrying out quality inspections, and preparing finished products for dispatch. The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate label press machinery to produce blank labels and convert printed materials.
  • Read and understand production job sheets.
  • Set up cutters, magnetic cylinders, web guides, and slitting knives.
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve optimum production speeds while maintaining quality.
  • Operate the press computer to input production settings.
  • Monitor production and remove any faults or defects during the manufacturing process.
  • Carry out quality inspections throughout production.
  • Pack and box finished products according to job specifications.
  • Accurately complete production paperwork, including production times and any amendments to job sheets.
  • Perform routine daily machine maintenance.
  • Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe.
  • Report equipment faults and production issues to the Production Supervisor.
  • Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and production processes.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience operating production or manufacturing machinery is desirable.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and job sheets accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify production faults.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable with a positive attitude and good time keeping.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
