Personnel Selection are recruiting for a reliable and detail-focused Production Linisher / Deburrer Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Andover. This is a fantastic temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on production work and takes pride in achieving a high-quality finish on manufactured components.

The successful candidate will be working within a busy manufacturing environment, preparing metal components after production by grinding, smoothing, polishing and removing burrs or sharp edges. The role is ideal for someone with previous experience using linishing, grinding or belt sanding equipment, although candidates with strong practical production skills and a willingness to learn will also be considered.

This is a temporary position for the first 12 weeks, before then going onto our clients books directly. Pay rate is £12.78ph.

THE ROLE:

  • Grinding down metal components after manufacture to remove rough edges, burrs and excess material.
  • Polishing, smoothing and finishing components to the required standard.
  • Operating grinding belt machines and other workshop finishing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Carrying out visual quality checks to ensure components meet specification before moving to the next stage of production.
  • Following work instructions, health and safety procedures and production standards at all times.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area.
  • Working Monday to Friday day shift, with a mid afternoon early finish on Fridays.

SKILLS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED:

  • Previous experience in linishing, deburring, grinding, polishing, metal finishing or a similar production role would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Confident using hand tools, workshop machinery or grinding belt machines.
  • Proven background working in production or metalwork.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to produce a neat, consistent finish.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a production team.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.
