Machine Operative

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our client manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in fabrication, assembly, and materials handling. The successful applicant will be instrumental in supporting our production processes, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to the overall quality of our products.

Responsibilities

• Work as a water jet operator or/and on flame cutting machines
• Initially work days moving to nights once trained
• Monitor machine operations to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and organising raw materials and finished products within the warehouse.
• Use hand tools for assembly, adjustments, or repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist with welding or fabrication tasks when required.
• Document production data accurately for quality control purposes.

Skills

• Proven experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their operation.
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
• Warehouse experience including materials organisation and inventory management.
• Skills in assembly work and welding are advantageous but not essential.
