Oakwrights is seeking a Machine Operator to join our skilled production team, operating industry-leading Hundegger CNC machinery to process oak beams and softwood timbers used in our award-winning oak frame buildings.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Machine Operator, you will:

  • Operate a range of Hundegger CNC machines to process oak and softwood timber.
  • Ensure all components are manufactured accurately and to the highest quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify any issues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Learn new processes and develop your technical skills through structured training.

What We're Looking For

We're more interested in finding the right person than someone who ticks every box. You will ideally have:

  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • A practical approach to problem-solving.

It would be great if you had:

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery, this is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with timber or within a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical maintenance or mechanical skills.
