About the Machine Operator Role

As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating production machinery, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring smooth manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on Machine Operator position in a fast-paced production environment, ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

As a Machine Operator / Production Operative, you will:

  • Set up and operate production machinery
  • Monitor output and carry out quality checks
  • Clean and maintain machines and work areas
  • Record production data (materials, quantities, timings)
  • Report faults or breakdowns to the supervisor
  • Support continuous improvement across the production line
  • Follow all health & safety procedures

About You

We’re looking for a Machine Operator or Manufacturing Operative who has:

  • Experience as a Machine Operator, Production Operative, Print Operator, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and processes
  • Basic computer/IT skills
  • A reliable, team-focused attitude
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Full training is provided, making this a great opportunity for semi-skilled candidates to progress into a Machine Operator role.

Salary & Benefits

  • £29,375 per year (including 17.5% shift premium)
  • Overtime paid at 1.33x

Working Hours

37.5 hours per week

Standard shift pattern:

  • Monday–Wednesday: 16:00–02:00
  • Thursday: 15:30–01:00

Training period (1–3 months):

  • Monday–Wednesday: 06:30–16:30
  • Thursday: 06:30–16:00
    (Shift premium not applicable during training)
