Production Machine Setter Team Leader

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Salary: £14.79 - £16.76 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week

Shift Pattern (Rotating):

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:30am – 3:30pm, with a 20-minute paid break and 45-minute unpaid break. Friday, 6:00am – 12:00pm.
  • Monday to Thursday, 9:00am – 6:00pm, with a 20-minute paid break and 45-minute unpaid break. Friday, 6:00am – 12:00pm.

Candidates must be flexible with working patterns to support team members and business requirements.

About the Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Machine Setter Team Leader to join their manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong technical machine-setting experience and leadership skills to play a key role within a fast-paced production environment.

Working within a busy production operation, you will lead and support a team of Machine Setters while remaining actively involved in day-to-day production activities. Your focus will be on maximising efficiency, supporting operational performance, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support the Machine Setter team.
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing guidance to team members.
  • Perform and document daily equipment checks and maintenance tasks.
  • Support line operators in achieving production targets and line efficiencies.
  • Prioritise workloads and allocate tasks effectively across the team.
  • Monitor performance against key production KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure machinery is operating efficiently and shut down correctly at the end of production.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and food safety.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Management teams.

About You

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong machine setting and technical production experience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of GMP, BRC, HACCP, or food production environments would be advantageous.
