Machinist/Toolmaker
Oscar & Harvey Limited
Working for a friendly , inclusive business based in Mansfield Woodhouse, this is a great opportunity to join a growing business and have a steady career nd excellent benefits.
Core Skills & Experience:
A background in injection mould tooling is strongly preferred, though candidates with broader precision engineering or toolroom experience and a willingness to develop in this area will be considered, this is not a general machining role. Experience in the manufacture, build, and maintenance of plastic injection mould tools is extremely desirable, alongside hands-on CNC machining (milling), tool fitting, benching, and fault diagnosis. You should be comfortable reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Technical Competencies:
Proven experience with CNC machine operation and programming (Fanuc, Hurco, or similar) is required. Familiarity with CMM is preferred & traditional hand gauge inspection is expected. Experience with EDM (spark erosion or wire) is also strongly preferred.
CAD/CAM:
A working knowledge of CAD/CAM software is also required for this role. Experience with at least one mainstream CAM package for generating and proving out CNC toolpaths is essential, Fusion 360, Openmind Hypermill or similar. The ability to work from supplied 3D models (STEP/IGES) to produce machining programs with appropriate tooling strategies, feeds, and speeds is expected. Experience with a 3D CAD package for basic model viewing, modification, or electrode design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) would be a distinct advantage, particularly given the nature of the tooling work carried out at the business.
Experience Level:
Minimum 3–5 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a toolroom or precision engineering environment, ideally with exposure to plastic injection mould tools.
Hours of Work:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm (30-minute lunch break)
